Cat In The Hat Reading Log

Cat In The Hat by Dr. Suess is a novel on boredom that leads to adventure and excitement in an instant. This book by Dr. Suess is very popular that most families will know today and is one of the books that are highly recommended.

Conrad and Sally Walden are home alone with their pet fish. It is raining outside, and Conrad and Sally are bored out of their minds. Until The Cat in the Hat walks in the front door like he owns the place and he introduces them to their imagination, and at first, it's all fun and games until things get out of hand, and the Cat must go, go, go, before their parents get back home.

This novel introduces The Cat in The Hat is life. I breathe Cat in The Hat near the start of the movie he is immediately made out to be a fun loving, full of energy, and an imaginative cat. The Cat in The Hat comes from a world of imagination that the cat is from but then he is introduced to this new world with new thinks to make up Conrad and Sally's of fun. The Cat over does it but Conrad and Sally always had to clean up the cats mess.

Conrad and Sally are immediately introduced at the very start of the book and seem to be very bored just like every other day. They don't know what to do but they are intertwined with a Cat in a Hat through the whole book that was crazily fun for them but Conrad and sally always would have to clean up after the Cat. As the Cat was teaching Conrad and sally things they were also teaching the Cat things about not making a mess every time and to also on tidying.

The Lorax Reading Log

A novel called The Lorax by Dr. Seuss. A well-known author with well-known novels across the whole world, The Lorax is also a very well known novel around the world too. This is a very recommended book and movie to watch as it has various characters and themes all through out the movie and book.

Twelve-year-old Ted lives in a place with no signs of nature; no flowers or trees grow in the town of Thneedville. Ted would very much like to win the heart of Audrey, the girl of his dreams, but to do this, he must find that which she most desires: a Truffula tree. To get it, Ted delves into the story of the Lorax, once the gruff guardian of the forest, and The Once-ler who let greed overtake his respect for nature.

In this novel, we meet The Lorax near the start of the novel when he first appears from the sky in front of a man who was starting to make a living in cutting down the Truffula tree but The Lorax keeps on telling him about how the wild life needs the trees to survive as he quotes ¨It's not about what it is, it's about what it can become¨. He keeps on trying to reason with the man but it all was not enough so he warns the man that if he doesn't leave by sun set he will set his wrath upon the man but it did not work so he went and never returned.

In the novel The Lorax, we are introduced to a man called The Once-ler a man who sets out to prove to his mother and father that he will become a successful man one day. The Once-ler comes across a forest of Truffula trees that he starts on cutting down and makes a scarf but it was so soft he rung his family to come down and see. The Once-ler's family come down but then they all start cutting down trees and making a profit when all the life is being polluted and while he and his family are overwhelmed with greed. The Once-ler thought he was doing something good but instead he was doing something awful and that's how nature was ruined for Thneedville.

Hunger Games Reading Logs

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is a book on sacrifice, romance, survival, and instinct. This novel has a very strong connection to real life imp articular as it is a lot on survival and instinct. This is a very recommended book to read from everything that will happen.

The Hunger Games first starts off in district 12 in where a woman called Katniss Everdeen is introduced and is sent into columns of boys on one side and girls on the other and they had to be 12 to 18 to be picked for the reaping. Katniss's sister gets picked out and then Katniss says "I volunteer as tribute" and then she is picked rather than her sister and a boy was then picked out called "Peeta Mellark". Katniss and Peeta then end up in the capitol and then trains and gets sponsors for the games to help. The games begin and they lost track of each other and Katniss is being hunted by a group and Peeta Katniss manages to escape with dropping a type of bee's nest that killed a lot of the group below. Peeta survives and with a couple others but now Katniss and Peeta have teamed back up and have taken down the remaining districts except for one, with dogs under them and with Peeta, Katniss and the other district member fighting on the roof top Katniss and Peeta killing him. Then an announcement comes out saying there can only be one remaining tribute and Katniss and Peeta decided on to kill themselves with poison berries and another announcement said they both are the champions.

In this novel, we have been introduced to Katniss Everdeen the woman who first volunteered to be a tribute in the reaping. She is a very outstanding woman in the games as she has very good instincts and survival skills because of living so far from the capitol the further out you are the poorer your district is. So, Katniss always used to survive off poor conditions and rough weather so it really didn't matter what you threw at her, her instincts were always quick and sharp deciding on the situation. As Katniss was getting slowly through the games she became more aware of her environment because of everything that has happened from the beginning of the games.

In this novel, all throughout the book we are introduced to all the districts from 1-13 and they all have to do with supporting the capitol for example, District 1 is the luxury and class because they are the closest to the capitol and with a district, that is not near the capitol is usually the ones that have to do the dirty work, for example, District 12 is the coal mining district so the further district away you are is where the more horrible things that you will have to do for a job in that district. All of the districts are all still treated like foreigners from the capitol being the center and most powerful out of all the districts, for example, the massive army they have and all the weapons they have. Most districts have very poor conditions from districts five to thirteen and all they can do is fend for them selfs, family and friends.

Reading log: Meariki The Quest For Truth

Meariki the quest for truth is a book by Helen Pearse-Otene. Meariki the quest for truth is a book about ignorance, rivalry and an evil vs good type of book. This book is a very good Maori book to read as well.

We are introduced to Meariki, an unfortunate slave to the Kuwai Village Chief’s daughter, Hineamuru. Meariki is forced to follow Hineamuru and her warrior boyfriend Pehi to the river, where the ignorant young warrior insults the poor slave and then loses Hineamuru to the evil Tanekikiwa who intends to make Hineamuru his reluctant bride. Thus begins Matariki's adventurous journey to rescue Hineamuru from the clutches of the black magician. As a small and unadorned heroine, she meets wonderful characters along the way traveling with the transformed trouble-maker Pehi and ultimate discovering her own unique destiny.

In this graphic novel, it has very interesting features already at the start first it's first in a Maori village which is interesting to see what all the Maori people are doing in the background as well as what the main characters are doing. Though when going more through the book the background is slowly put into this dark background all through out the whole book right from where the slave Meariki was introduced because having a slave now is something horrible and cruel to have. As the book proceeded and coming up to the part on where Meariki and Pehi finally make it to Tanekikiwa´s cave where he kept Hineamuru the background didn´t really feel like a scary place but still felt like an evil background with the dark cave.

As in this graphic novel, Meariki was introduced to the very start of the novel and was introduced as a slave to the Chief´s daughter, Hineamuru. When proceeding through the book Pehi is introduced with Meariki when Hineamuru was captured by Tanikikwa. Now in the book, Pehi and Meariki have gone through a lot and have grown very fond of each other and becoming friends. Meariki didn´t know though that she was getting lead to her destiny as reading through near the end of the book. As Pehi and Meariki are at the cave where Tanekikiwa is holding Hineamuru under his spell and as Hineamuru came out of nowhere and put her hands on Meariki´s head and that's when Meariki´s destiny was final and was taken to the sprite mind of the guardian to become the new sprite mind of the guardian.

Invisible Man By Queen Meaning and comparing jekyll and hyde

They both tell a similar story and they were both released in at least 6 months apart .

This is a song about self-awareness, individualisation, and being as a breakthrough from superficiality. The video shows how one boy is unconsciously searching for his own uniqueness and ability to reciprocate as a good friend because he feels invisible even to himself. He senses that he needs to break free from his invalidating family and the societal pressure that keep him enslaved as a child, as he doesn’t yet know what the adult version of himself should look like.

Reading log/blog Fast Five/Fast and The Furious 5

Fast Five or Fast and The Furious Five is a movie by Justin Lin. Fast Five is a movie about helping family and friends protecting each other and supporting each other even if there close or far away and wherever they go they will always have family close by.

In the movie Dom, Brian and Mai are in Rio from what happened in the US which they're all wanted. They are living there in Rio and they run low on cash so they do quick jobs that go bad fast. So after that professional people from the US go over to Rio to take out or capture Dom, Brian, and Mai. They get away just in time and then Dom wants them to split up but Brian and Mai don't want them to split up then Mai says that she is pregnant which then that was the time that they decided that they would stop running and do something about the people that were after them.

So with the movie they are only racing and doing these heists because they love doing it and it is there only way of living and no one will tell them how to live. When they are on the run I was so amazed by Dom saying that they should split up I was so shocked but to be honest I would of probably done the same thing in that situation. So when they decide to stop running and to do something about it I thought to myself that that's a way better plan then just splitting up and getting picked off one by one.

So they decided to do one more heist and make big profit. They get friends but they have struggles on getting the massive vault out of a police station. They get it and they unlock the vault big wads of cash and heist done. So they have managed on getting cars, food and water but putting the plan in motion was the big thing they had to worry about. Sorting everything for the plan to work tho was the thing they struggled on.

So when they decided to get a crew for the beastly heist they were going to do I just sat there blank minded and said well that's a good idea the best one yet. So as the movie progresses and finally the guys that were after them teamed up with them and I thought that you should just shoot them all now and get it over with. On how they had to get things in motion for them was like taking on cops it was very difficult at first but then got they got back up and still pushed through.

Reading Log on the movie the strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

The strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is a movie by Charles Jarrott. This movie The strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is about how a man Dr Jekyll that makes a drink that makes him separate his good side from his bad side, But it went horribly wrong and his bad side started to take over him as he drunk more of what he made.

Personally he should experiment on himself at all or do experiments at all but if you do you shouldn't do it to alter something in, on or about the body cause it could inflict permanent damage mentally and emotionally. Also you never even know what kind of side effects could happen after if you did experiment on yourself or on other people.

I think still in on the same subject If making something for you to drink is not good at all but when done to try and control the side effects or just go with it. So he should of told someone about turning himself into Mr Hyde so they could try and help him. In that situation I would of at least told someone about it to help and or something. But separating your bad side from good is bad because you need good and bad to mix to be equal and controllable.

Was the coach successful?
Vid 1 - No because of his mental state of being angry and yelling and that made the athletes question the coach.
Vid 2 - Yes because he gave clear instructions and made the athletes not question the coach but give suggestions on making a bit more difficult.

What coach/captain is most successful?
The second Video because he gave clear instructions and clear voice and the best level to talk to the athletes. T he second video wasn't successful because of his screaming and yelling at the athletes and giving put downs to them well playing or on the side line.

Lake Hawea 3 Seasons

Winter

A snowy chilled ice covered lake much like the antarctic. White and light blue frosty lake and a frozen winter smell. White fluffy snow all around it feels like people are setting up for Christmas. The quite and calm steady chirps of the bluebirds, bellbirds and cascades singing to their own melodies. The quiet brushing sound of the oak and birch trees, as they are shimmering in the soft wintry wind. It’s the middle of winter and the snow has fallen the people are tramping through the cold and fluffy snowy forest. There are others ice skating on the frozen lake. But one person, ice skating the fastest, that person was going up and down the lake like they were a jet plane flying through the air. That person was speeding nearly as fast as the cars just beside them driving on the highway. I was just watching as all of nature took its course, through nature in the winter like as if I had seen it for the first time.

Spring

A slow and smooth lake with the trees blooming and bursting with flowers and leaves, spreading all round. Shades of orange, red and yellow glistening on the leaves these bright colours littering the forest. The smells of honey and pollen flying in the air with the feeling of the woodland vegetation blooming as the morning sun rises. That new spring feeling the taste bouncing on the tongue. The light bursting and rising through and the luscious trees and bush sounds much like cars rushing past on the highway. All the birds singing for another season of spring is here. People embracing the new start of spring as it comes upon them. A hare raising its head looking at its surrounding area, scouring for any sort of danger in the area. But the creatures of the forest relish in this new spring and nature taking it at a slow and steady pace.

Summer
It was a blazing hot day. The lake was steaming because of the scorching heat on the chilled still water. Red, yellow and a bright orange sun glowing onto the new lush green grass and trees. I'm breathing through my nose clearly now from the fresh smell of summer. The extremely hot weather heating up my tongue from inside my mouth and the sizzling sun doing the same thing with the depleted looking lake. The few people that are around the lake slip, slop and slapping on their sunscreen, they are slowly sinking into the lake to cool off. The sounds get quieter or am I just getting too far away from the lake. A cow cooling itself down from the scorching heat and the others followed down as they come off from the luscious grass across the field. The summer breeze came by more cows as they strolled and followed the rest of the herd. Getting hotter by the second as time goes by everyone is cooling off. THhe forest animals, the insects all cooling off from the blistering hot sun.

The Milgram Experiment by Saul McLeod practice reading blog

The Milgram Experiment by Saul McLeod

The Milgram Experiment by Saul McLeod is an article about how far people would go to obey an order and a man called Adolf Eichmann a crazy scientist guy how conducted experiments on other people and people would get ordered to get people or to kill them and bring them to him to rip apart to discover things in the body.

My first opinion I think that a lot of people are born bad and are just plain evil but also the people that are good can do very evil things if ordered to so in a way, everyone will do something bad in their life if they are forced to or because of something else. An example of this is the holocaust with the nazi's and Hitler because he made everyone to believe that Jewish people are evil and needed to be killed and so all the germans believed him and because of that over six million jews were killed.

If I was in the Milgram experiment and was forcefully ordered to go and kill someone I probably would have killed someone if forced to. But I wouldn't have been the only one that would have done it because nearly everyone that was ordered to kill someone actual killed that person to stay alive because if you didn't the authority would kill you and hunt you down if you said no or ran for them because of saying no.

Breaking down a javelin throw

First you have to hold the javelin like you would put a pole straight into the ground.
secondly you hold the javelin back and the tip is near but not too close to your face.
Thirdly when about to run make sure its a smooth run and your perpendicular and the javelin is facing the target.
Fourthly when in the running stage you make sure you turn to your right side and your right feet/legs cross over with your left leg/foot a couple times.
Fifthly you bring the javelin up and nearly throw with a straight arm and aim at a 45 degree angle.
And the sixth step is to make sure you follow through.   Image result for javelin throwImage result for javelin throw
